Tons of Leroys & Jonnies at Kooba Sample Sale

Kooba opened its doors for its first sample sample since August 2011 at their midtown showroom this morning. Although this sample sale was a little bit more intimate in comparison to previous sales, there were plenty of satchels, crossbody bags, and other leather accessories for up to 70% off retail.

In the the adjoining showroom there was also a Hayden-Harnett sample sale (which is part of the same company as Kooba), but the the biggest draw are the Kooba bags. Prices were reasonable –  key fobs from Hayden-Harnett are $15, pouches and cosmetic bags are $35, and wallets are $60.  Prices for bags starts at $25. Bags found in the ‘damaged’ bin are $50 and large leather bags topped off at $175.

There were plenty of Leroy crossbody bags and Jonnie satchels for $175 (Org. $498-$598) in a variety of colors, pattens, and textures. There were also plenty of Brielle crossbody bags for $125 down from $298. I spotted a Barkely satchel in Denim for $175 down from $598 and some Layla evening bags for $90 (Org. $228.) If you find these markdowns to be a bit on the high end of your budget Kooba also had some brightly colored Erika and Carmine snake skin print bags for $70.

You could also rummage through the damage bin, but I must warn you – it was very picked over and some of the bags left behind were either badly damaged or had blue pen marks.

On the other side of the showroom you will find Kooba’s 100% vegan bag line, V Couture by Kooba; which is a budget friendly alternative to its high-end leather bag line. All of the bags from this line are $25!

There is bag check upon entering the showroom, so if you plan on coming during your lunch break then just bring your wallet.
